Trip Highlights from the Past

October 2013

This was our 33rd trip and a fantastic experience as always.  We used Fast Track for the first time in 2012 in order to bypass the long lines in the arrival hall at Grantley Adams Airport and were pleased so once again used Five Star Fast Track and were whisked through the arrivals hall.  Upon arrival we were met by FIVE STAR FAST TRACK’s representative.  She was outside the arrivals hall holding our name so we could find her.  My husband and I bypassed a full arrivals hall going through a special special “VIP” area where we immediately went through customs without any wait.  She then assisted with our luggage and took us out to our rental car (by Stoutes) that was waiting for us.  A very pleasant way to arrive.  View their services at: www.fivestarfasttrack.com  You can e-mail them at:  reservations@fivestarfasttrack.com  For $54.99 US each it is well worth the cost - especially when the arrivals hall is full.  We will definitely use them again.  If you use them, be sure to mention you heard about them on Barbados Tips.

Again we got our rental car from Stoutes Cars (a brand new vehicle this visit) - they have an office right at the airport, so it’s very convenient.  If you want excellent vehicles, good pricing and service, definitely book with Stoutes.  www.stoutescar.com

We stayed at our timeshare this visit - Plum Tree Club at Rockley.  First week we had a 2-bedroom and second week we had a 1-bedroom.  Identical units except for the extra bedroom.  The pool was just steps from our door and never crowded.  If you want a nice self-catering accommodation definitely check out Plum Tree Club. Gorgeous flowers on the grounds at Plum Tree.

July 2012

This was our 32nd trip and a fantastic experience as always.  Upon arrival we were met by FIVE STAR FAST TRACK’s representative Sandra.  She was outside the arrivals hall holding our name so we could find her.  She took our party of 6 past a very full arrivals hall to a special “VIP” area where we immediately went through customs without any wait.

In a few minutes we were on our way to our rental villa (through Bajan Services).  This time we booked Jaccaranda in the Gibbes Glade area of the west coast.  It was a wonderful choice with 3 bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms.  Plus there was an additional full bathroom right by the gorgeous indoor pool.

We enjoyed all of our favorite restaurants which include The Tides, Champers, Naru, Mullins and the very new Cin Cin by the Sea.  You can read about them within the website.  We were celebrating our granddaughter’s birthday and The Tides surprised her with a special dessert and also a commemorative postcard with her photo of the occasion.

Also Champers did something special.

This visit was mainly spent enjoying each other and the sea during the daytime and great restaurants at night.

We also enjoyed an afternoon exploring Huntes Gardens and a nice visit with the owner, Anthony.

A fun experience this visit was taking in a movie at Limegrove Cinemas in Holetown.  We had their best “Gold” seating and got priority service for food and drinks and had great lounge chairs on which we enjoyed viewing the movie.  Try it out for something different.

We made a visit to St. Nicholas Abbey to refill our special etched rum bottle we bought on a previous visit.  Their special 12 year old rum is wonderful.  Simon Warren, owner/manager, took good care of us during our visit.

There were also the fun jet ski rides and just a great time exploring the island.  Sarah with Glory Tours took us to a special beach club where we could enjoy a great swim and some drinks.

Tried out a new beer this visit:

Also we had a delicious Bajan buffet lunch at The Atlantis in Bathsheba with our friend, Ann Stoute.
